Regional Support Our regional support center provides resources to
our hotels for multiple areas including Human Resources,
Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Security, Group Reservations,
Guest Contact Center, Information Technology, Laundry and
Communications. Purpose: The Network Engineer is responsible for
supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of computer
networks across the Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando campus as
well as the WAN with Loews Hotels Corporate. The Network Engineer
is also responsible for assisting with project management tasks as
well as departmental documentation, financial aspects as it relates
to the budget, and ownership of the requisition and procurement
process. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of network infrastructure, including
LAN/WAN architecture, routing protocols, IP addressing, and network
segmentation.
- Configuring and deploying network devices, such as routers,
switches, load balancers, and wireless controllers, to support new
network deployments or upgrades.
- Collaborates with senior network engineers and architects to
develop network solutions that meet business requirements and align
with industry best practices. As well as cross-functional teams,
including system administrators and application developers, to
diagnose and resolve network-related incidents impacting system
availability or performance.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitoring network
performance and proactively identifying opportunities for
optimization and improvement.
- Conducts network capacity planning and implementing necessary
adjustments to ensure scalability and performance.
- Troubleshoots complex network issues, analyzing packet
captures, and utilizing network diagnostic tools to identify and
resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Collaborates with the security teams to ensure compliance with
industry regulations, such as HIPAA or PCI DSS, and implementing
appropriate security controls.
- Implementing and managing network security measures, including
firewalls, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), virtual private
networks (VPNs), and access control policies.
- Conducts security assessments, vulnerability scans, and
penetration testing to identify and remediate network security
vulnerabilities.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date network documentation,
including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating
procedures (SOPs).
- Follows established change management processes for network
changes, ensuring proper testing, documentation, and communication
to minimize disruptions and maintain network stability.
- Contributing to the development of network standards,
guidelines, and best practices to ensure consistency and adherence
to industry standards.
- Evaluates and recommends new network technologies, tools, and
methodologies to enhance network performance, security, and
efficiency. Which includes proof-of-concept projects and pilot
deployments to assess the viability and benefits of new network
solutions.
- Serves as an escalation point for network engineers in
resolving complex network issues and providing guidance on
troubleshooting methodologies.
- Provides training and knowledge sharing to network engineers
and other IT staff to enhance their network troubleshooting
skills.
- Stays updated with the latest networking technologies, industry
standards, and best practices. Continuously learns to enhance your
knowledge through self-study, training courses, and certifications
relevant to the field of networking. Required Qualifications:
- Possessing knowledge with:
- TCP/IP, Advanced routing protocols (e.g. BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
- Multicast configuration and troubleshooting (IGMP)
- Configure and troubleshoot network topology protocols
(STP)
- SolarWinds (IPAM, NPM, Netflow)
- Fiber and copper network infrastructure (testing,
troubleshooting)
- Network load-balancers (Citrix ADC/NetScaler/WARP)
- Data network architectures, topologies, hardware, software,
transmission and signaling links and protocols
- Wireshark (packet capture and analysis)
- MS Office (focus on Visio, Word and Excel) Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years prior Network Engineer experience required
with:
- Datacenter networks including wireless, using industry standard
hardware (Cisco, Ruckus, HPE)
- Fiber and copper network infrastructure (testing,
troubleshooting) Certifications & Licenses:
- Cisco (CCNA) and/or CompTIA (Network+) certification, or
equivalent hands-on experience
